    Optimization of Medium Conditions Produced by Rhodotorula mucilaginosa WP3 with Response Surface Methodology

    Synthesis of Carotenoid by Rhodotorula mucilaginosa WP3 isolated from apple peel was studied. First of all, single factor test was carried out, and then variance analysis was carried out to obtain significant factors: fructose mass concentration, yeast mass concentration, initial pH value. Then, response surface methodology(RSM) was applied to optimize the production of Carotenoid, and the regression model and the optimal process parameters were obtained. Finally, the actual Carotenoid yield obtained by the optimal fermentation parameters was compared with the predicted value, which confirmed that the regression model was reliable.
