In recent years, some scholars have illustrated the relationship between medical science and ancient Chinese writing principles together with their means of expression, from the perspective of the comparison of medicine to writings(以医喻文) and the coherence between writing principles and medical science(文理通医道). However, the significance of regarding medical science as the knowledge background of ancient writing discourse has not yet aroused the academia's attention. Centered on the relationship between the analogies closely derived from human body(近身取譬) in ancient writings and medical knowledge, this paper tries to explicate and analyze the significance of regarding medical science as the background knowledge of ancient writings, based on the understanding of the relationship between the names of human body parts and organs and the constructive concepts of ancient writings,on the relevant principles of their functional concepts and ancient writings, and finally on the abstract categories, the modelization of conceptual relations, and their logical relations. This paper also discusses the expressive effects and defects of the metaphorical concepts.
